First and foremost, I’m a student. So class takes up 21 hours a week, plus studying for those classes takes another 54 hours. After being a student for the week I have 93 hours left. Then, I work for 7.5 hours, give or take a few— 85.5 hours. I have to eat, so allocate half an hour per meal, 3 meals times .5 hours seven days a week is 10 and a half hours, now I’m left with 75 hours left in my week. I’m also supposed to be sleeping for 8 hours a night, which costs a whopping 56 hours a week. So now I have 19 hours left. It takes me about an hour to get ready in the morning, so that’s 12 hours left to my week. I take about 10 minutes in my showers, plus getting ready for bed we’ll say takes about 20 minutes— now we’re down to 1.5 hours a week. This time is spent for the few and far between social interaction I get, having a cup of tea, emailing professors about lab positions, maybe picking up an extra shift at work; who knows maybe if I’m having a bad day, it will consist of a panic attack. However, apparently, as a college student— you only get an hour and a half to yourself that you don’t HAVE to do something .
